In my many years shopping with REI, I have never experienced bad customer service. I should have written a review years ago, so better late then never. Quality customer service, fantastic return policy, and they are committed to stopping used and unwanted outdoor gear from ending up in the landfill by their buy-back program. Outstanding job REI!!

REI, you impress me every time I visit your San Antonio location. You always have what I need, and your customer support continually goes above and beyond. Dustin helped me choose my new OSPREY on my recent visit and made sure it fit me perfectly. He is truly the best of the best.

Why wouldn't you love REI if you love the outdoors?! Everything from backpacking, to kayaking, cycling, and running gets a large share of the floor space. There's a permanent sale section which is a newer addition after COVID. There are also regularly classes on various outdoor topics. Be sure to sign up for membership to share in the discounts! This is your best option if you want a specific selection of top quality packs, bags, and camping. You'll find a bigger selection of mid range options elsewhere.

Aubrey helped my wife and me make difficult shoe selections today. Now in our late sixties, we must be careful with our choices or literally limp along. Aubrey is infinitely patient and very knowledgeable, although not pushy. We drive across town to get to REI, and we are never disappointed. Aubrey is indicative of the quality personnel staffing REI.

REALLY BAD EXPERIENCE. I’ll not even left a star, but I need to leave one in order to write the review. I went with the intention to buy HOKA shoes because I saw on the website they had them available at the store. However, the shoes were dirty so I asked to see more colors because they didn’t had anymore but the dirty ones in that color. The skinny white guy with beard attending on that department looked at me so bad and told me with an attitude that there were no more colors available in that model, which I thought it was weird since it’s a big store. So I went and asked another worker and he checked on the device they have and told me there were more colors available on my size. I WANT TO BE CLEAR, THE WHITE GUY DIDINT EVEN ASKED FOR THE SIZE OR MODEL I WAS LOOKING FOR SO HE JUST TOLD ME THAT BECAUSE DIDNT WANT TO HELP ME .NOT GOING BACK EVER AGAIN

I had to write this review. Dustin was soooooo very helpful and patient as we were fitted with an Osprey backpack with full explanation of all the features to include a demonstration of attaching our hiking poles! He walked us through the various choices for spikes (we r headed to Alaska soon) and helped us on a rain cover for our backpacks. He was so knowledgeable about everything so we just kept asking him questions! His answers were thoughtful and on point. What a terrific guy. He made this shopping stop a pleasure! Yay Dustin!
